This costume piece was a customer order. It specifically involved only the leather skirt, pants, and shoes; the thicker leather belt was ordered separately by the customer.
The tabards are made of genuine leather with machine-embroidered linen inserts and are lined with viscose taffeta. The individual tabards are attached to a linen obi with Velcro to ensure that the obi is washable. The obi closes at the back with a concealed Velcro fastener (note: the mannequin has significantly different measurements than the customer). The pants are also made of linen and close via regular tunnel & drawstring on the left side of the garment.
The shoe covers were custom-made and are not part of my regular product range. They are made of genuine leather reinforced with very stiff fusible interfacing and feature several straps and ribbons on the inside that are threaded under the laces of the actual boots to hold them in place. The back closes with a separable zipper. The customer requested this solution because he uses the boots for several costumes and therefore did not want to permanently alter them, apart from the patina I also applied.
